Story
I race HYROX in the Pro division, plus triathlon and trail. I led Marines as an infantry officer. I've worked for large companies and built my own. And I coach people in boxing, hybrid fitness and more, so they can become the best version of themselves.
One life. One standard. Train. Fight. Run.
I started training martial arts when I was four years old, and I hold black belts in Taekwondo and Tang Soo Do. Boxing became a huge part of my life at the Naval Academy. I became an NCBA All-American, won the Coast Guard Academy title and fought at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Later I earned my orange belt in Bang Muay Thai and my blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Today I'm all in on HYROX, with a personal best of 1:14:10. This year the minimum is a sub-70 PR and an age-group podium. The ultimate goal is to qualify for the World Championships and keep chasing new heights: sub-65, then sub-60, in Pro singles and doubles.
The ring taught me to stay calm when it hurts. Racing is where I use that every week.

I left home at fourteen for the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California. I graduated in 2007 as Cadet Battalion Commander and the number one graduate in my class.
The Naval Academy turned me down the first time. I spent a year at Northwestern Preparatory School on a Naval Academy Foundation scholarship, applied again and got in. I graduated in 2012 with a degree in Political Science.
I chose the infantry. I commanded a rifle platoon with 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines and trained alongside forces in Japan, Korea and the Philippines. Then I led a Combined Anti-Armor Team platoon with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, deployed aboard the USS Wasp with the 22nd MEU. My last assignment was Officer Candidates School in Quantico, where I served as an instructor, platoon commander and executive officer, training the next generation of Marine officers. I left active duty as a Captain in 2019.
I still serve where I can, through Team RWB and the Naval Academy community.

After the Marine Corps I joined BPX Energy in Denver as a change project manager. I put drones and infrared cameras to work on oil pads in the Eagle Ford Basin. A fellow Naval Academy graduate and Navy veteran mentored me through the transition. I owe him a lot.
When the pandemic ended that job, I sold my house in Denver, loaded my two German Shepherds into a truck and drove to Boston. In January 2021, fellow Marine Mike Byrne and I started Summit Delivery Solutions with a few thousand dollars and one truck. Four years later we ran 60 trucks and employed 150 people. We held Amazon's top performance tier, Fantastic Plus, for more than six straight months. We gave back over $200,000 to our team in bonuses and raffles.
Next I co-founded CorpGuidance Recruiting, an executive search firm for business aviation. In May 2026 I finished my Executive MBA at the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business. Today I recruit for Redo, a post-purchase software company for Shopify brands, based in Draper, Utah.

Train. Fight. Run. is how I live, and now it's how I coach. I coach HYROX prep, hybrid training, general fitness and boxing, for adults and for kids. In person around Salt Lake, 1:1 in my private gym in Sandy, and online.
The standard is the same for a first-timer and a Pro. Build a system. Be disciplined. Execute.
Always be training toward something. The process is the point, not the goal.
Be ready to fight for what you want. When life knocks you down, you don't crumble.
What you thought was impossible was just untrained.
Home is Sandy, Utah, with my wife Erin and our four dogs: Axel, Rosie, Luna and Smoke. Erin is my teammate on race day and behind the camera, and we're launching the Train Fight Run Podcast together soon.
